»»general appearance:
Christoffer is rather small for his age. The best explanation he could ever come up with for only being two inches above five feet in height is that it was thanks to genetics. This could easily be seen as a lie when comparing him to his father, who stood over six feet tall, yet it is his mother that he takes after more. He inherited her blond hair rather than his father's black hair; however, his unruly hair that swipes to the side in a more I just got out of bed look is thanks to his father. The teen's bright blue eyes are also thanks to his mother, along with his fair complexion and more or less petite form. Despite being so little, though, Christoffer's body is lined with muscles that are faintly seen until he starts using magic, working, or fighting.
Christoffer is known for not really caring about what he wears. He goes by the first thing I grab out of the dresser rule, so his outfits can sometimes seem strange and mismatched. He does not care, though, and feels perfectly comfortable in whatever he randomly chooses. He does, however, tend to forget the need of shoes quite a lot. He will walk around barefoot until he steps on something sharp, thus being reminded that he should put on some shoes.

Picture yourself standing next to a fifty foot wall made of some unknown metal that made it impossible to scale the wall without using some sort of magic. Picture the world around you with everyone scattered about, enjoying there merry lives. Now, picture what might be inside the wall. Did you imagine nothing but darkness and a sense of emptiness with a lone person crouched in the middle? If you did, then you are spot on. This is Christoffer, the boy who enclosed himself in the metaphorical fifty foot wall, guarding himself for reasons unknown to the rest of the world. The only people who actually know these reasons are is brother and himself.
Christoffer is insecure and, more or less, mentally scarred. He cannot find a single reason to trust the world and people around him. Sometimes he even finds himself distrusting his own flesh and blood, but that inkling of doubt is quickly wiped away. His little brother is his only anchor in his life, the only reason why he has been able to keep going for so long. He does not let people get close to him, instead pushing them away with a glare and a few harsh words before giving them the cold shoulder. In a sense, he is afraid to get close to anyone else, afraid that he will only get hurt or that he might hurt them if he grows too fond of them.
This is not to say that Christoffer is completely cold towards everyone. There are rare glimpses past the wall he built, usually spotted when he thinks he is alone with his brother. He only smiles around Elis, even when he has to force them. He is willing to do anything for Elis, even if it means he has to put on a mask to keep his brother from worrying about him.

The Lindström family originally consisted of a cheerful couple. Along came their first born, a boy resembling his mother in more ways than one. He was the apple of their eye, their reason for working hard each day. As a young child, Christoffer was a good boy. He did whatever his parents asked of him, idolizing his parents, and never wanting to upset them. If he did something wrong, he became a nervous wreck, sputtering out apologies over and over again. His parents never remained mad at him for long, and he was soon forgiven.
Around age eight, Christoffer became an older brother. His mother gave birth to a small boy that mirrored his mother as well with the same blue eyes, blond hair, and fair complexion. The birth, however, had taken its toll on his mother's body. She grew weaker and weaker with each passing day, yet she tried to hide it from her sons and even her husband. Within a year, his father finally figured out that the woman was sick. She was moved to the infirmary, and Christoffer had to take on the job of caring for his little brother while his father worked.
They visited the infirmary often, keeping their mother company. She was bedridden, but she did her best to appear happy and well in front of her boys. When they were told to go back home, Christoffer would take on the task of teaching his brother, Elis, the basics. Teaching a toddler how to speak and walk was harder than it looked, and he found himself struggling to keep focused during lessons. Don't get frustrated. Don't snap at your brother. It won't do you any good. Thankfully, Elis proved to be a fast learner, determined to be able to at least somewhat communicate with his brother and be able to toddle after him.
Around the age of ten, Christoffer started to notice a difference in his father. He would not arrive home until late at night. The warmth in his eyes had disappeared, and a scowl was almost always on his face. The biggest change came when his father turned violent, lashing out at his sons for no true reason at all. A happy squeal from his brother as he played with his toys, a soft cough from Christoffer as the nights grew colder, anything was deemed worthy of his father's rage.
He could take the pain. He had to remain strong for his brother and his mother, after all. He forgave his father the first couple of times, believing that it was just his father going through some phase or trying to figure out how to cope with mother's illness. However, he hated to hear his brother cry. He started making sure that his brother was out of the room whenever his father was around. If his father was going to take out his anger on them, then he made sure that it was only on him, not Elis.
On the dawn of his fourteenth birthday, the boys received news that their mother had passed away. They both took the news hard, though Christoffer kept in his tears, trying to keep strong as he comforted his bawling brother. The abuse from their father only increased after the death of their mother, though it suddenly stopped a year afterwards. His father was reported missing, and, rather than worrying, Christoffer breathed a sigh of relief. His father did not stop the nagging fear in the back of his mind, telling him to look over his shoulders to make sure that the man was not spying on them from in the trees or elsewhere.
Without their father, Christoffer had to actually start working. He had put it off for a while now, using his brother as an excuse. It worked for a while, but then even his brother started pressuring him to start working. Elis decided that, if Christoffer worked, then he could simply tag along each day. With that in mind, Christoffer started working with the village's cooks. It was a safe job, and that was all he really cared about. Cooking was also interesting to him, and he actually found himself enjoying the work.
